Each year we work with an artist to create unique art for each of our wines, Our winemaker, Wilco Lam will taste through the wines with the artist at different stages in the wines' evolution. Using Wlico's tasting sketches as a starting point, the artist will then create a unique piece of artwork based on their interpretation of each wine.

A few notes on the process from our winemaker, Wilco Lam

“This year’s label art is by local Martinborough artist Leanne Williams. I worked closely with Leanne throughout the wines’ evolution in the cellar, tasting them together and discussing the concept, vision and style of each wine, as well as how I interpret them and what they represent.

I became intrigued by the creative processes that artists go through, and the conversations sparked when we compared our interpretations. Leanne’s paintings are not simply descriptive; they reflect the feelings and emotions that emerged during those tasting discussions."
